One open star cluster has formed 8000 light years away in the diffuse nebula NGC 6357. Very hot blue stars emit intense ultraviolet radiation, blowing away material in their vicinity and creating a huge bubble or cavity (lower part of the image), a region where the surrounding gas has been blown into the interstellar medium.
