What happens when two bodies of the same size hit a planet at the same time? This is the result. In most cases it happens when a asteroid enters the atmosphere and breaks into two or more pieces before hitting the ground. But sometimes two asteroids that orbit around each other (like Ida and Dactyl) can collide with a planet too.
